By making sure that all material recovery, recycling, and disposal are carried out strictly in accordance with waste legislation, we demonstrate our commitment to environmental responsibility. Our commitment to sustainable waste management techniques, which make sure that as much material is recycled or repurposed as possible, reflects our desire to reduce the amount of garbage that ends up in landfills.
Our reliable skip hire services are designed to effectively and sustainably handle your waste management needs, whether they are for residential, commercial, or construction projects.
Where i can put my skip?
On private property, a skip can be positioned anywhere. You can put a skip anywhere on your private property as long as the driver can get to it when the skip wagon comes back to pick it up. Once a skip has been put, it cannot be moved or rendered inaccessible. When the skip wagon driver arrives at your property, always give him precise directions.
You will need a permission from your local authority if you wish to set up your skip on public property, such as a road or walkway. This will be arranged for you by Skip Hire Network, and your quote will include any fees assessed by the Local Authority.
What is prohibited material aka Hazardous Waste?
A list of our hazardous and unaccepted garbage is provided below. Please give us a call to schedule the proper removal if you have any of these, since this will call for a specific license and kind of waste removal service.
Prohibited materials are;
Solvents, corrosive liquid, biodegradable waste, medical waste, waste from laboratories, batteries, aerosols, canisters of gas, the use of pesticides, anti-freeze, paint, used oils, motor oils, batteries for vehicles, wheels on vehicles, extinguishers for fires, light bulbs and fluorescent tubes, computer displays and televisions, refrigerators, asbestos, plasterboard, detonators
What can i put in my skip?
Non-hazardous waste, including domestic goods, construction debris, and green waste, can be disposed of using our skips. Hazardous waste requires specialist containers and the appropriate permissions, and must not be mixed with non-hazardous waste.
If your skip needs to be placed on a public road or pavement, a permit from your local council may be required. This is usually arranged by the hirer, but we can organise the permit on your behalf if needed.
We also provide skips for scrap metal. These are competitively priced and, depending on the amount of metal included and the transport costs, they can sometimes even be free.
What will happen to my waste?
In compliance with all UK and EU regulations, your trash will be treated at an approved treatment facility.
For a fee, we can give you with a thorough overview of what happens to your waste.
What skip size do i need?
This depends on the size and quantity of your waste. Skips are normally better suited to the removal of dense and heavy waste, but can of course be used for any legal waste items.
To save time and money when renting a skip, pick the appropriate size. It is better to hire a skip that is a little too big than one that is a little too small because the latter would require additional expenses.
Our skip size guide should be able to help you but if you’re still unsure call 07424 683 531 for advice or send us an email.
How full can i load my skip?
You are not allowed to overfill your skip by law. You must make sure the skip is not filled over the top of the sidewalls in order to guarantee its safety during transportation. Under no circumstances will overfilled skips be accepted.
Before you begin filling your skip, you must ask the driver if you have any questions.
Do i need permit to hire a skip?
Every skip needs to be placed in a garden, driveway, or another area on your own land. If this isn’t feasible, you’ll need to obtain a skip permit from your local council before we can deliver the skip. This is normally arranged by the hirer; however, we can also organise the permit on your behalf if required.
It might be a good idea to lay down boards or batons for the skip to rest on when it is being positioned on a driveway, especially one that is monoblock. Similarly, if your driveway is slabbed, we advise placing the skip at the beginning of the drive to prevent the truck from driving over the slabs.
How wide does my driveway should be?
As a general rule, we would request that a driveway's entrance be 9 to 10 feet wide to accommodate a skip truck. The skip might, however, be able to be dropped from the property's entry onto the driveway.
When skips are needed?
When residences are being emptied or when furniture is being removed for renovations, skips become necessary. In addition, they are utilized for garden and waste removal, landscape gardening, and even the destruction of sheds, greenhouses, and conservatories. Whether you need to renovate your property entirely or only a portion of it, skips are essential. This covers waste from home décor, kitchen and bathroom renovations, etc. Hiring a skip is necessary to remove rubbish from your house when you have a new roof, windows installed, plumbing work done, or heating and electrical waste particles removed.
Skips are necessary when doing do-it-yourself tasks and producing a lot of construction trash, such as wood. Each skip may include up to two sheets of plasterboard (which must be bagged); if more, please contact the office to discuss your options. We may offer plasterboard-only skips at attractive prices.

Will the skip cause damage to my drive?
